Returning and Starting Over

Hi!

So, I'm starting over with this blog. It's now going to be mostly about my writing because I'm always writing and it'll be easier to post on an almost daily basis. I might give my fans this address too for updates about my books (hopefully In The Strawberry Patch will be done soon... in time for the holidays =] ). I talked to Lawrence the other day, he served in the military and went to Afghanistan. He's going to talk to his buddies that are serving and have served in Iraq and/or Afghanistan so I can interview them for my book (The Decade of Fame Technology and Angst). I'm going to have to go through questions and make sure they'll be okay to ask -- I don't want to ask someone something very personal and send them back into a panic attack (that's what I always worry about with soldiers and refugees). Speaking of refugees, I need to interview more of the members of Acrassicauda. They are from Iraq and very sweet.

Well, I have to get ready for a doctor's appointment. I'll be working on some writing then. Post later.

No Longer Muslim

Hi All,

I'm no longer Muslim. I just felt it wasn't me. Being gay or asexual is a sin -- I am asexual. God created me and I don't think he would deny me as his creation. Also, since my family was non-Muslim, it was a sin living with them and having non Muslim friends. Also celebrating the holidays with them is a sin. Of course there are some other reasons. I will still read the Quran and study and I do think Islam is a nice religion (though not for me), but I don't want to practice anymore. I believe in one God, but I want to remain unaffiliated.

2 more days...

Hallo!

So, Sunday is my birthday. I will be 21 years old. No, no, I won't be imbibing alcohol because that goes against Islam and I won't be gambling either. It doesn't bother me, though, because I couldn't drink with my medication and well, alcoholism runs in the family so I don't want to drink. I can't believe I'll be 21, it feels like yesterday I was 13. On Monday it'll be my 8th anniversary at Deadjournal -- again, it feels like yesterday that I joined. I joined the day after my 13th birthday because I could sign up to be a member of any site without parental consent. ^_^

I know it's been a while since I updated, but I've been busy. I have been working, working out at the gym and working on my books. I also stayed with nan the past few nights. Next week I'm going to Virginia and won't be online for 3 days. I'm looking forward to the vacation. ^_^

Salaam!

Coexistence

Hey everyone!

I have to submit a poem for my creative writing class and feedback would be appreciated.

Whatever happened to acceptance and peace?
All religions, whether mono or polytheist preach
love your brothers and sisters, mother and father.
Yet, some within all faiths don't even bother
to follow the word of their Holy Book
and perverting the message in lives they took.
Some followers of Christ want you to see the light,
Other believers' point of views cause a fight.
Some followers of Mohammed hold the sword,
Understand, no compulsion in religion is ignored.
Our media, in this land of the free,
Pervert the message of Islam as filthy
blood-hungry savages that kill all
or if one goes to Israel prepare to fall
a bloody death from Jewish suicide men.
As we were founded on rights numbering ten,
The first securing the right to worship
the God or Gods and lessons from their lips.
God Bless America, or the God taken out
for those who are uptight and pout.
Whatever happened to our rights
Different religions are an uncommon sight
because of the fear of being branded
instead of friendship and laughter banded.

Questions to consider:

1.) What were the positive aspects of this poem?
2.) What did you like least about this poem?
3.) What was the message you took from this poem?
4.) What kind of emotion did it envoke in you?

Other comments would be helpful!

Is it Summer Yet?

I'm so looking forward to summer and finish my book. I'm now writing about the Patriot Act and watching Fahrenheit 9/11.

Sorry

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the lack of an update this past week. It's official -- I reverted! ^^ I feel so happy about it too; this is the perfect fit. So, between that, studying and writing... I've been a busy girl.
